Before you start
For the grown-up- 1Tell your child what you're going to do together, roughly how long it takes, and that either of you can stop at any time.
- 2Think of something about them that your child might not know, like a story from before they were born.
- 3This one often brings laughter. That's a good thing, and it can sit right next to sadness.
- 4Have tissues and a drink nearby. Tears and laughter are both welcome.

Why this helps
Children keep learning about the person who died as they grow, and they have a right to those stories. A quiz makes it playful, and shared laughter about someone who died is part of grieving well. It also tells your child that it's OK to talk about them.
