Feed the worry monster

Munch eats worries, so you don't have to carry them alone.

In my tummy: 0

I'm Munch, and I'm hungry for worries. Feed me one, big or small.

Pick a worry

Why this helps

Getting worries out of your head and handing them over, then talking them through with a grown-up, makes them easier to manage, especially at bedtime.

For ages 3 to 5, ages 6 to 8, ages 9 to 12.

Adapted from Child Bereavement UK's activity ideas for grieving children.

Make it at home

You need: A tissue box or sock, Googly eyes, felt, glue

  1. 1Turn the box into a monster with a big mouth.
  2. 2Write or draw worries on slips of paper and feed them in.
  3. 3Each night, a grown-up reads the worries (with permission) and talks about them.
