Outside face, inside face
The face you show, and what's really underneath.
Lots of people wear an outside face. Pick what people see, then what's really going on underneath.
Outside face
What people see at school, with friends, at home
Inside face
What's really going on underneath
Why this helps
Many grieving children wear a happy mask. Noticing the gap, and choosing someone safe to show, helps them stop carrying it alone.
For ages 9 to 12, ages 13 to 17.
Make it at home
You need: Two paper plates, Pens, paint or collage
- 1On one plate, draw the face you show at school and with friends.
- 2On the other, draw the feelings you keep inside.
- 3Choose who you might show the inside face to.
