Grief on your phone

Memorial pages, messages and staying safe online.

A lot of grief happens on your phone now. It can help a lot, and it can also hit hard. Here's what's worth knowing.
  • Memorial pages and group chats let people share photos, videos and memories, and feel less alone.
  • Lots of people write messages to the person who died, on birthdays and anniversaries. That's a healthy way to stay connected.
  • You can find out about the funeral and ways to help.
  • Hearing their voice in an old video can be precious. Save those somewhere safe.

Before you post about them, ask yourself

  • Would their family be OK seeing this?
  • Am I sure it's true?
  • Am I OK with this being public forever?

If there's ever bad news, how would you want to hear it?

Tell your family your answer. It helps them get it right.
